Our mission

Logo Opération Urgences Liban

The acronym Opération Urgences Liban - O.U.L. - is reminiscent of the waves we call “swell”, caused by a wind that can blow very far, reaching the point where the waves cause damage.

It's an image of what Lebanon has been going through for too many years.

Opération Urgences Liban (OUL), launched in August after the explosion in the port, initially helped to rebuild the apartments destroyed. On site, we quickly realized the depth of the economic, health and social crisis.

Family sponsorship became a vital emergency. We provide moral and financial support to families in great difficulty.

The war only made the situation worse. For many, enough is enough!

We can't just sit back and watch : we have to ACT !

At the beginning of 2025, 400 families benefit from this monthly assistance.

- Examples of family situations -

S. and M., both unemployed, have three children. Their daughter, a nurse, helps out a little, but it's far from enough to pay the rent, utilities, food and medication. The monthly OUL support allows them to “breathe” a little, even if it doesn't solve all their problems.

Who are we ?

Opération Urgences Liban is an initiative of the Fraternité Missionnaire Jean-Paul II, a public association of the faithful recognized by the Bishop of Fréjus-Toulon.

This initiative is directly supported by the Association COMPASSIO, a non-profit organization registered with the Draguignan sub-prefecture. Its objective is to organize, within the framework of international humanitarian cooperation, solidarity and charitable actions in France and abroad, for the benefit of vulnerable populations in distress and extreme precariousness, while promoting respect and human dignity. Helping a lebanese family

Whether your donation is a one-off or a recurring one, know that it will make a real difference to the lives of our beneficiaries.
Every time we visit them, they tell us how touched, grateful and happy they are to know that someone is thinking of them.

#OUL20 = June 16 - 25, 2025

The last mission in March 2025 was an opportunity to improve the organization of monthly visits thanks to a great team of collaborators. Together we discussed how to attract new visitors, as the number of beneficiaries increases.

We saw some signs of hope on the ground, even if life for the Lebanese remains very difficult, with prices rising sharply, but not wages, when people are lucky enough to have a salary...

We'll be leaving again in June, on the eve of the 5ᵉ anniversary of this Operation, which is a real miracle of solidarity. Until then, we hope to widen the circle of donors, true godfathers and godmothers of these brothers and sisters prey to a multiform crisis that never ends.

Our heartfelt thanks go to all those who have participated or continue to participate in this Operation through one-off or regular donations. Thank you to those who have just joined the solidarity movement. Thank you all for spreading the word about OUL !

Together, we're more effective !

On behalf of all those who are supported by your donations, MERCI KTIR (= thank you very much, in Lebanese).
