Our mission

The acronym Opération Urgences Liban - O.U.L. - is reminiscent of the waves we call “swell”, caused by a wind that can blow very far, reaching the point where the waves cause damage.
It's an image of what Lebanon has been going through for too many years.
Opération Urgences Liban (OUL), launched in August after the explosion in the port, initially helped to rebuild the apartments destroyed. On site, we quickly realized the depth of the economic, health and social crisis.
Family sponsorship became a vital emergency. We provide moral and financial support to families in great difficulty.
The war only made the situation worse. For many, enough is enough!
We can't just sit back and watch : we have to ACT !
At the beginning of 2025, 400 families benefit from this monthly assistance.
Who are we ?
Opération Urgences Liban is an initiative of the Fraternité Missionnaire Jean-Paul II, a public association of the faithful recognized by the Bishop of Fréjus-Toulon.
This initiative is directly supported by the Association COMPASSIO, a non-profit organization registered with the Draguignan sub-prefecture. Its objective is to organize, within the framework of international humanitarian cooperation, solidarity and charitable actions in France and abroad, for the benefit of vulnerable populations in distress and extreme precariousness, while promoting respect and human dignity. Next mission
#OUL22 = February 24 - March 05, 2026
As we enter the new year 2026 tonight, I remember a clock in the cloister of a convent in Italy where it was written: “It is always time to do good.” Yes, every day is an opportunity to sow kindness, sharing, love, solidarity, comfort, consolation... hope!
This is what we have been doing together for more than five years for our brothers and sisters in Lebanon, who are still in turmoil. Thanks to you, some of these families or individuals are doing better today, to the point that we have been able to stop supporting them materially, without forgetting them, of course. Thus, in the first months of 2026, we will be able to support new people in emergency situations, not to say sometimes “absolute emergencies.” Our next mission on site will be on February 24.
Also, as this new year begins, the entire COMPASSIO team joins me in saying: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, and A THOUSAND TIMES THANK YOU !
My wish is that this small association, founded a few years ago and whose name says it all, will continue to bear fruit through its current and future actions.
With our wishes for peace, “all the best” (as we say in Switzerland) !
